St. James Catholic School is part of the Diocese of Savannah and follows the academic guidelines provided by the Office of Catholic Schools.
After religion, the core of the academic program is oral and written language, reading, mathematics, science, and social studies in the primary grades. In grades 6-8, a departmental program is in place for instruction.
While providing a strong academic foundation in students is paramount, St. James Catholic School also recognizes the importance of studying faith, the arts, technology, foreign language, and physical education. Our curriculum allows our students to have the opportunity to succeed in numerous subjects and activities, so teachers are able to educate the mind of each individual student.
Our curriculum focuses on the following areas:
- Religion and prayer
- Oral and written language arts and reading
- Math (advanced math offered grades 5-8)
- Science program with "hands on" science lab experience
