St. James Catholic School follows the Diocese of Savannah’s Curriculum Standards provided by the Office of Catholic Schools. Our Diocesan standards are aligned to the Georgia State standards.
Our faith-based comprehensive curriculum boasts instruction in Language Arts (Reading Comprehension, Grammar, Writing, and Vocabulary), Math, Science, Social Studies and Religion. In addition, we offer enrichment programs in Fine Arts, Foreign Language (Spanish), Library, Music Appreciation, Physical Education and Technology.
In grades 5-8, a departmental program is in place for instruction including an Advanced Math track for motivated students who meet the requirements.
All students are required to attend religious instruction, liturgical and para-liturgical services and share in the prayer-life of the community. Religion and prayer, as taught in our school, is a way of life, not merely another subject. The religion class lays the foundation for the formation of attitudes and the building of principles upon which the child will base his/her life.
The curriculum allows our students to have the opportunity to succeed in numerous subjects and activities, so teachers can educate the mind of each individual student.
